‘Burn’ takes Anzac Park’s trademark sound down a slightly darker path. Through adding gritty basslines and the occasional distorted vocal line, Park describes the tune as “a fuck you to self-righteousness and judgmental folk”. Its cynical lyrics match the music perfectly, with a few particularly poignant, thoughtful moments shining through: ‘full of false piety, you come to the party, will you crucify me or down a bottle and burn all night?’. Having dropped more bouncy electro-pop recently, ‘Burn’ marks a bit of a departure from his established sound, but it works perfectly.
